Lilah Akin is a Penobscot Nation Tribal Member and interdisciplinary artist of Passamaquoddy, Wolastoq, Cherokee, and settler-colonial descent as well. She has performed in several Indigenous-led performance projects including the voice of Mary in the animation Mary and Molly by Donna Loring, dramaturg and performer in Where the River Widens (Wabanaki REACH), and a staged production of My Story is Gluskabe (Penobscot Theatre Company). Lilah holds BA degrees from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in Creative Media and the University of Southern Maine's Geography-Anthropology program, with a focus in Cultural and Natural Heritage Management. She has worked for Nibezun, Wabanaki Public Health and Wellness, and she is a newly minted Board Member for Atlantic Black Box.
